2019… We have to talk.

hemlet shot

I’m not one to hold grudges. Nor do I give a crap what anyone says, does or thinks. Opinions, comments, reviews, feedback are all just words that have absolutely zero impact on how I live my life or how I function on a daily basis. As a result, I sleep like a freaking stone and I usually fall asleep within the first 5 minutes of my head hitting the pillow, sometimes sooner. That being said…..

2018… you pissed me off.

You took more money from me than you needed to, so you can stop that right now. You broke my phone, I fixed it and you broke it again. You ripped apart my fabric Ted Shed and then you had the audacity to break my bike. I hope you’re happy.

Now this is not to say all of 2018 was crappy cocky doody. It wasn’t. And although I didn’t get in the anticipated 10K miles I had hoped, I did get in some really nice rides and some really memorable ones too.

I also had the chance to ride some great bikes, yes, all Harley’s, but brandy spanking new ones.

But, 2018…. we’re done.

So, 2019…. what do you have in store for me this year? I know you won’t tell me, but here is a list of things I would like to accomplish this year. Hopefully you won’t mess up these plans too bad.

  • Fix my Heritage
  • Finish the bike barn/Ted Shed
  • Ride to my farm in upstate New York
  • Ride to Harley Factory in York, PA
  • Ride to Key West
  • Do a Saddle Sore 1000
  • Participate in the Void Rally
  • Go to Americade
  • Go to AMA vintage days in Ohio
  • Go to Barber in Alabama
  • Ride New England (Conn., Mass., R.I., VT., NH, Maine, NY)
  • Ride the longest day (High Point to Cape May) on June 22
  • Get another bike, preferably a Sportster

That’s a huge list. But to be honest, if the first one or last one doesn’t happen, the ones in between won’t happen at all.

My mother in-law once said “If you want to hear God laugh, make plans”.

And here we go……

  1. I love your M-I-L’s quote. I use it often along with reminding people “if this __________ (fill in the blank) is the worst thing that happened to you today then Thank God”. Wishing you all of the best in 2019.
